Favor Runner is a recent development in the world of delivery and courier apps.

Instead of being specific to one industry, such as groceries or food delivery, you can use Favor Runner to order all sorts of deliveries.

Favor Runner is based in Texas and hasn’t moved beyond the state.

However, it has several benefits that other rideshare and delivery apps don’t have, like guaranteed pay and 100% tips.

So if you’re in Texas and looking for a side hustle, this might be the choice for you.

What is the Favor Runner App?

The Favor Runner app is the smartphone application for the Favor deliveries.

With it, runners can schedule their shifts, arrange for deliveries, and receive payouts from the company.

The Favor Runner app is available on the iOS app store, Google Play, or any smart device.

The Favor Runner app is not the same as the Favor app.

While the Favor Runner app is for the couriers themselves, the Favor app is for customers.

If you want to use Favor to deliver groceries, food, or other items, you must first download the original Favor app.

What Does the Favor Runner App Do?

The Favor Runner App has a scheduling portion, where runners can schedule their available time and navigate to deliveries.

It also keeps the Favor Runner’s profile information, ratings, payment, and availability on hand.

The Favor Runner app is similar to many other food delivery applications, such as DoorDash and UberEats.

However, Favor Runner is run by a smaller, local company, so it offers more perks to the worker than several other larger corporations.

Where Is the Favor Runner App Available?

Currently, Favor Runner is only available in Texas.

It was founded in Austin in collaboration with H-E-B, Texas’ primary chain grocery store.

Eventually, it might move outwards to other states and cities, but currently, it’s a Texas-only service.

Areas of Operation

Even though Favor Runner is only available in one state, it’s one of the largest states in America.

The service might not be available everywhere in Texas, especially in the more rural areas.

Who Can Become a Favor Runner?

Anyone who lives in a Favor area and meets the minimum requirements can become a Favor delivery runner.

It’s a simple process involving an online application and video interview.

Favor is an excellent company to work for because of its consistent pay and hours.

They are rapidly expanding to more Texas cities and towns.

The company even helps their drivers with health insurance if necessary.

Although you can become a Favor Runner even if you don’t have much free time, the best way to earn money is to schedule yourself for shifts in advance.

It’s best to know your schedule and when you’ll be off to become a Favor Runner.

Runner Requirements

There are a few requirements for becoming a Favor Runner.

Here are the main ones:

  • You must be 18+
  • You must have a smartphone
  • You must have a US Driver’s License
  • You must have your car
  • You must have car insurance
  • You must have a bank account (for direct deposit)
  • You must get a background check

If you have all of these things or are willing and able to get them, you will likely be accepted to drive and deliver for Favor.

These requirements are necessary for the safety and security of the deliveries and Favor runners and customers.

The car, car insurance, and driver’s license requirements do not apply to those who live in Austin, Texas, and are applying to become bicycle runners.

Favor Runner will need a valid form of identification, but it doesn’t have to be a driver’s license.

How to Become a Favor Runner

If you have all the requirements and clean driving background, you can sign up to become a Favor runner with a few easy steps.

Step by Step Instructions

To apply for Favor, you first need to go to the Favor website and fill out a brief application with your basic information.

After the initial application, you’ll need to fill out more forms, upload important documents, and prove that you meet the requirements to become a Favor Runner.

In addition, you will show Favor your proof of insurance and driver’s license and permit them to run a background check on you.

Once that is done, the next step is to wait until you’re accepted, which is usually a few days, with the major hangup being a clear background check.

The rest of the onboarding is simple–you’ll watch a few videos, go through orientation, order your Favor shirt, and download the app.

Once all that is complete and your supplies have arrived, you’re ready to begin driving for Favor!

How Much Do Favor Runners Make?

Favor runners don’t make consistent amounts of money because of the inconsistencies in deliveries.

However, most Favor runners can average from $10-$20 an hour.

On a busier day, they might make more, and on a slower day, it will probably come out to less.

Favor pays by direct deposit into a bank account.

Pay

The pay for each delivery depends on the size and distance of the delivery.

However, Favor offers a unique service that apps like Uber and Doordash do not: runners get a base hourly rate even if there are no deliveries during their scheduled time.

Here’s how it works: runners are allowed to schedule their preferred slots on the runner app at the beginning of the week.

If they are scheduled for a slot, and no one requests a delivery, the Runner will still get paid a base rate of $8-9 an hour, depending on the market area.

This rate holds only if the Runner makes less than $9 in deliveries during those hours and was scheduled to deliver.

Runners can make deliveries outside of scheduled hours and still be paid but won’t receive the base rate.

Do Favor Runners Make Tips?

Favor runners do make tips, and most report higher tip rates than other delivery services.

Because the range of deliveries available is wider, the odds for tipping do go up some.

However, most weekend and evening work involves delivering food or groceries.

Favor Runners get to keep 100% of their tips, which are optional for the customer to give.

This ups the average hourly rate for many drivers.

However, they must pay for their gas and car upkeep.

How to Use the Favor Runner App

Once you’ve applied and been accepted to become a Favor Runner, it’s time to start driving.

To do this successfully, you will need to download the app to keep track of your current and upcoming orders.

Download Instructions

To download the Favor runner app, you simply need to go to the app store (if you’re on an iPhone) or Google Play for an Android.

Search “favor runner” and look for the app with a white background and blue “R.”

The Favor app itself looks different, with a blue background and white bowtie.

This app is for customers.

Use Instructions

Once it’s downloaded, you can log in using your credentials (if you’re already a runner, these will be set up online) and begin filling out your availability, area, and schedule.

After this is filled out, you’ll be able to start delivering and making money.

If you haven’t applied to become a runner yet, you’ll need to do that and get accepted before logging into the favor runner app.

The Favor Runner app should start as a normal app and show your schedule and upcoming deliveries.

It will include addresses, the size of deliveries, and the times requested.

You can do all of your work with this app by navigating through its various tabs and sections.

What To Do if the Favor Runner App Isn’t Working

Nothing is more frustrating than showing up for work and not being able to work, especially when you depend on this work for your primary or secondary income, such as Favor.

Sometimes, the Favor app doesn’t work.

But, while it’s not often, the company is small enough that it makes a difference to its customers and drivers.

Here’s what to do.

Troubleshooting

There are several common issues with the Favor Runner app, and here are some things to try before calling customer service.

  • The notifications aren’t working–if you’re not getting notifications, check your settings and ensure that you’ve turned notifications on for the app
  • The app won’t load–check for an app update, as it updates regularly, and older versions won’t work. Alternatively, try rebooting your phone and see if that helps.
  • Uninstall the app and reinstall it. It might be an issue with the installation process.
  • Check that your phone is updated to a recent enough version.
  • Always check your wifi and data signal.
  • Read error messages to ensure that your account hasn’t been suspended.

Contact Customer Service

If you’ve tried all of these things and nothing is working, you should contact Favor’s customer service.

You can reach the Help Center through your online Favor account from a laptop or another device.

If that website is down, it’s an issue with all of Favor and not just your app.

Give it time, and they’ll get it fixed!

It’s also possible to reach out to customer service directly.

The best email is [email protected].

However, it might take some time for them to get back to you.

Check your original email for any contact number–there is no public helpline listed.

Favor Runner App: Final Thoughts

If you live in Texas and are looking for a way to make easy money on your schedule, Favor Runner is an excellent option.

You have a guaranteed base payment for any pre-scheduled hours and can make deliveries in your hometown.

Favor Runner is a simple way to increase income while you drive.
