Did you know that Chase and Lyft teamed up to make your life easier when it comes to taking rides on the rideshare app?

The partnership even helps you get your food delivered for less than it usually costs using the Grubhub app.

If you like to use rideshare and food delivery services often, then this is one promotion and partnership you’ll want to pay close attention to.

In this article, you’ll learn what Chase and Lyft give you when you use the new Lyft Pink Chase Sapphire Reserve partnership.

What Is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card?

The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a travel membership rewards credit card that offers many benefits, including the following:

  • Bonus points of 50,000 to sign up
  • Three times the points on dining
  • Ten times the points on car rentals and hotels
  • Five times the points on air travel
  • Access to airport lounges
  • No foreign transaction fees

The card comes with a $550 annual fee, which may seem like a lot.

However, if you use the benefits of the card regularly, then it’s well worth it.

It becomes even more attractive once you add in everything you’re going to get from Lyft.

About the Lyft Pink Chase Sapphire Reserve Partnership

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card, then you’re in luck.

Chase and Lyft have partnered up to give you some excellent benefits when using your card with the rideshare app.

The first benefit you can get is a free Lyft Pink membership.

You’ll also get five times your total bonus points on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card when using the card to pay for Lyft rides through March 31, 2023.

Lyft also provides extra perks with other Chase branded cards.

These perks go to any Chase cardholders with a Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Freedom Student, Ink Business Unlimited, Ink Cash, Ink Business Cash, Ink Plus, or Ink Business Preferred card.

However, only J.P. Morgan Reserve and Chase Reserve cardholders get the free Lyft Pink benefit.

The Chase Ultimate Reward and other ultimate rewards cards don’t get this benefit either.

Yes, you’ll get a free year of the Lyft Pink service if you use your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card to sign up for it.

To take advantage of this promotion, you must activate your Lyft Pink account by March 31, 2023.

Lyft Pink comes with several benefits.

It gives you a 15% discount on all your Lyft rides.

You get a more relaxed policy when dealing with cancellations, as well.

The discount on rides also applies to the priority pass for airport pickups.

Priority airport pickups ensure that you get out of the airport faster than anyone else.

The cancellation policy means that Lyft will pay for up to three cancellations per month if you book another Lyft ride within 15 minutes.

Lyft Pink gives you a return on any lost and found fees you may incur.

It also provides you with surprise offers periodically for additional savings and discounts.

If you live in certain cities, Lyft Pink gives you free scooter or bike rides.

You can take up to three half-hour rides on a bike or scooter each month.

The membership typically costs $19.99 per month.

Getting it free for the year provides you with over $200 in savings, which you can apply to your Chase Sapphire Reserve annual fee.

How to Activate Lyft Pink with Chase Sapphire Reserve

To get your free year of Lyft Pink, all you have to do is sign up for the Lyft Pink membership with your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card.

You must do so by March 31, 2023.

When Is the Lyft Pink Chase Sapphire Reserve Promotion Expiring?

The promotion between the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card and Lyft Pink expires on March 31, 2023.

Specifically, you must use your Chase Sapphire Reserve card to purchase the Lyft Pink membership inside the Lyft app.

Extended Benefits with Grubhub and DoorDash

A Lyft Pink membership already comes with plenty of attractive member benefits.

Taking advantage of the Lyft Pink Chase Sapphire Reserve partnership looks even better when considering how a Lyft Pink membership also provides food delivery benefits.

Lyft partnered in 2020 with Grubhub.

The partnership means that all Lyft Pink members also get a free Grubhub+ membership.

You would normally pay Grubhub $9.99 per month to pay for its Grubhub+ service.

Add that amount into your savings that you can apply to your Chase Sapphire Reserve annual fee.

Here are the benefits you receive as a member of Grubhub+.

The main feature of Grubhub+ is the free delivery on any order placed of $12 or greater.

Since this is offered as an unlimited benefit, you can order as much on Grubhub as you want and never pay delivery fees again.

Grubhub+ gives you VIP customer service whenever you encounter issues such as order delays or incorrect orders.

Other membership perks come along as unadvertised bonuses as well.

If you decide to donate to charity as a Grubhub+ member, Grubhub uses Donate the Change to match every donation you make.

If you prefer, a Grubhub+ membership also allows you to continue using Seamless.

Seamless was actually more well-known than Grubhub several years ago.

Founded in New York City, Seamless ran separately until it merged with Grubhub in 2013.

Grubhub continued to run Seamless as a separate entity under the Grubhub brand.

If you live in a market where Seamless continues to operate, you can join Grubhub+ for all the above benefits while continuing to use the Seamless app.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve Promotion with DoorDash

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card also includes a separate relationship with the DoorDash food delivery app.

The two companies are running a promotion that also ends on March 31, 2023.

As a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, you need to pay for the DoorDash DashPass membership by the end of March to get DashPass free for 12 months.

DashPass usually costs $19.99 per month.

The membership lets you get unlimited free deliveries from thousands of restaurants on all orders of $12 or more.

It’s only available in the United States and Canada and also takes away all delivery fees on any grocery store orders over $25.

DoorDash estimates that its customers save an average of $4 to $5 per order when they aren’t paying delivery fees.

If you pay for the DashPass membership, it typically pays for itself if you use it at least once per week.

Getting the complimentary DashPass through your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card makes it even more attractive as a food or grocery delivery customer.

How to Claim the Lyft Pink Grubhub+ Promotion

To claim the Grubhub+ part of this Chase Sapphire Reserve and Lyft benefit, make sure you have a Grubhub account set up first.

Next, use your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card to purchase a Lyft Pink membership before March 31, 2023.

Finally, log into your Lyft app and look for the Lyft Pink option at the top menu area.

Tap on that navbar button and look for the area that says, “Explore your perks.”

You should see “Free Grubhub+ membership” as one of your available Lyft Pink benefits.

Tap into that area and look for an option that says, “Link accounts to activate.”

Tap on that option and view the next page that discusses the activation process.

The activation page will ask you to enter the email address you used when signing up for Grubhub.

You’ll get an activation email with a verification code sent to that email address.

Go into your email account, find the activation email from Lyft and enter the verification code inside the Lyft app.

The app will resolve to a page that asks you to click on “Get Grubhub+ free.”

Click on that tab and then click on “Accept.”

You’re all done and now have all the benefits that come with the partnership between the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card and Lyft.

Can You Cancel Lyft Pink on Chase Sapphire Cards?

Once your free year of Lyft Pink ends, you can decide to continue paying for it or cancel it.

If you want to continue paying for Lyft Pink, it won’t happen automatically.

You’ll need to opt-in by choosing to start paying the regular $19.99 per month fee.

During your free 12-month period, Lyft gives you the option to pause it once for up to four weeks.

You can then revive the membership, giving you a total of 13 months until you would need to begin paying the monthly fee to remain inside Lyft Pink.

You may also receive a special promotion from Lyft, where they’ll give you an additional three months of Lyft Pink for free after your promotional first year ends.

The Lyft website doesn’t provide details about this offer.

It simply says that you may qualify for the additional free 90 days of the Pink membership.

You’ll see whether it’s offered to you at the end of the year.

If you’re eligible, Lyft will then automatically charge your credit card for the $19.99 per month fee after those additional 90 days expire.

Wrapping Up

Are you excited about this Lyft Pink Chase Sapphire Reserve partnership?

If so, apply to become a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmember as soon as possible.

Once you’ve qualified for your Chase card, sign up for the free Lyft Pink membership immediately so you can take advantage of the additional 5x bonus points for all your Lyft rides until March 31, 2023.
