As you’re planning your festivities this St. Patrick’s Day, you’re likely also factoring in how you are going to get around.

While there are several different rideshare options to choose from, there’s nothing more convenient than hopping on your local transit system — and this St. Patrick’s Day, Molson Coors is making it even more convenient to do just that.

In partnership with Minneapolis’ Metro Transit system, Molson Coors is offering a safe, easy transportation alternative to help customers celebrate responsibly.

This Friday, March 17, fares on Metro Transit will be free on all bus and light rail routes from 6 p.m. until the end of regular service. Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) will also be offering free rides.

The promotion is part of the Miller Lite Free Rides program and marks the first event of the 2023 Free Rides program.

In 2022, Free Rides provided free transportation in nine different cities during major holidays and celebrations, including the Kentucky Derby, throughout the NFL season and on New Year’s Eve.

The Free Rides program started locally in 1997 and has since provided safe transportation to more than 8 million people across the country.

“Minneapolis has a rich Irish heritage that we continue to celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager, Molson Coors.

“Whatever your plans for celebration are this year, rest assured our Miller Lite Free Rides program is a convenient, safe and reliable way to get home.”
