The Power of Delivery

The power of delivery. In this video, I want to show you how profitable delivery can be. Now, if you’ve watched my other videos, hopefully, you have, you know that delivery can’t be the end all, or be all.

If you do delivery full-time, you will not make as much as someone who’s doing both rideshare and delivery and maybe Amazon Flex. And again, this is speaking to people who want to do this full-time, or people who want to maximize every minute.

So even though I’m not full-time, I still do delivery. So, like I said in other videos, I do delivery oftentimes when I want a break, I need to get moving, and so I want to get moving and get paid to move, rather than sitting on my butt.

You can almost use it as a restroom break, and so forth. But I don’t want to hash all that out again. However, let me show you the power of using delivery during peak times and being very selective.

Now, this is the Postmates app, and I’ll show you more about this in another video, how it works. Let me just show you some of my earnings. So, on July 14th, I worked for about an hour and 20 minutes.

An hour and 20 minutes, and I made $60. Notice what I did. So, I worked from the bottom up. French Meadow Cafe. See, French Meadow Cafe, Potbelly, Chipotle, Chipotle, Wilde Roast Cafe.

Now, just like regular like rideshare, they also have a similar blitz, they call it blitz rather than a surge. So, I got $1.75. So usually, for the most part, unless it’s a long delivery, Postmates pays about $4 flat.

As you see, $4.10 on a lot of these. But then, I got $1.75 on Chipotle twice, and Chipotle is a really good place for delivery because they’re very efficient and you can just get there, in and out. Some delivery places, you need to keep track, because they can be very, very slow, and now you’re wasting time.

Now, I only got a $2 tip on one of them, and $0 tip on the other one, but that’s okay. It only took me a few minutes to deliver it. Look 12:12 p.m. right there in the first Chipotle, and then the second one up here, 12:26. That was a 14-minute difference.

And so, when thinking about that, within 20 minutes, if you include tip, I made about $16 in about 20 minutes or so. Similar with Potbelly and French Meadow Cafe. I got a $4 tip, even though I only got paid $4.

So, the thing is, people are used to tipping with food delivery, like pizzas. They haven’t been Uberized yet unless you do Uber Eats. UberEats, can be profitable but for the most part, I found fewer tips on Uber Eats. Now, let me show you another powerful one here.

Wilde Roast Cafe at the very top. Look at that. Paid me $4.10. It took me if you look at 12:26 p.m. to 12:53 p.m., so it took me a little bit more time. It was a larger order.

It was over $100, but he gave me a $23 tip. Actually, it was a $76 order and he gave me a $23 tip. Why? I’ll tell you some of those tips in another video.

But look at the power of that. I also selectively use it. I did it just for a couple ones over here because they surged. $8 for a double blitz, they call it. And so, that was a really good payout, just for about 30 minutes of work, 20 minutes of work, if you can add up those numbers quickly.

Look at this one up here. Hong Kong Noodle. $6 payout, $14 tip. It took me maybe 20 minutes. That’s a really good return of your money.

So, this is just a glimpse of the power of delivery and how you need to selectively choose delivery at different times, in order to give yourself a break, to maximize your money because you’re spending time delivering during peak times, where people are at events, where people are at work, and there’s going to be less demand for grinds. And you’re going to be able to get moving and maximize every minute of your day.
