The TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter is the latest TurboAnt X7 Pro upgrade.

Relatively larger and with more range than the X7 Pro, the X7 Max is currently one of the best budget electric scooters with a swappable battery feature.

If you are an adult weighing up to 275 lbs and want to be more comfortable, then we highly recommend the Max over the Pro.

Like most TurboAnt e-scooters, the X7 Max features a shiny black matt paint job with slight hints of red that give the scooter the much-needed uniqueness.

When I took the X7 Max for a spin, I now have my experience details in this TurboAnt X7 Max review.

Is it worth it?

To whom is it best?

Is the TurboAnt X7 Max good for you?

image of TurboAnt X7 Max

If you are an adult weighing up to 275 lbs, then the TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter is ideal for your weight limit.

With its frame manufactured using an aluminum alloy, then the X7 Max will provide a safe riding experience without worrying about this critical component falling apart on you.

Not only is it a great ride for adults, but we also recommend experienced teenagers own this beauty.

The frame is thick enough and this means the weight of the scooter can’t be described as ultra-portable, but generally speaking, the X7 Max scooter is one of the lightest electric scooters for adults.

If you are an adrenaline junky, this scooter may not be a perfect choice for you since it’s only rated for a top speed of 20 mph.

However, if achieving a range of more than 40 km is what you are looking to achieve, then you can rely on the TurboAnt X7 Max to be your commuting ally.

TurboAnt X7 Max is perfect for teenagers and adults looking for a quality electric scooter that can hit a top range without breaking the bank.

TurboAnt X7 Max Overview

image of TurboAnt X7 Max Overview

Have you ever rented an electric scooter such as Lime or even Bird? If so, the TurboAnt X7 Max has a somewhat similar cockpit design.

The Display of the X7 Max is strategically positioned in the center where the stem and the handlebars meet, which means riders only have to peep into the center to see the speed, battery percentage, riding mode, and mileage.

Featuring a thumb throttle, I was highly impressed to note that the throttle of the X7 Max doesn’t have any dead zone.

This is typically rare for most e-scooters that feature thumb throttles.

Top Speed

With a full battery and riding the X7 Max on a smooth surface and in opposite directions to combat any effects of the wind, we were able to hit a top speed of 18.5 miles per hour (29.8km/h).

While the TurboAnt X7 Max is rated to hit a top speed of 20mph (32km/h), the actual top speed varies depending on the rider’s weight, riding conditions, and the overall experience of the rider.

It’s important to also note that when you go at the full speed, the battery consumption will be higher, and as such, the riding distance will reduce drastically.

Top range

With a full battery and on the ECO mode, I hit a top range of 31.7 miles (51km) before the battery asked for more juice.

Since the TurboAnt X7 Max scooter comes with a swappable battery, you can opt to buy another battery to extend the range and reach a top mileage of up to 100km before your scooter dies.

TurboAnt X7 Max Scooter Motor

This is a single-motor scooter.

Featuring a 350W front hub motor, you can clearly expect the top speed to be lower compared to scooters that feature dual-motor scooters.

However, it’s also important for you to note that dual-motor e-scooters are generally heavier

Battery

The X7 Max comes with a 36V 10Ah Lithium battery that is mounted on the stem.

As mentioned previously, TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter battery is detachable and as such, you can choose to own two or even more of the batteries and swap when need be.

One of the main reasons we loved the TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter is that it features a stem battery lock.

This means your battery is properly secured in place against theft or even tripping while riding.

Besides, TurboAnt provides two keys along with your scooter so that you can conveniently open the compartment and swap the batteries whenever needed.

To charge the battery while it’s near-empty to full, it will take you 6 hours.

However, you can opt for the all-new TurboAnt V8 electric scooter that was released along with the X7 Max.

It fully charges within 4 hours and features dual batteries.

Braking

Featuring a rear disc brake and front electronic, you can expect to stop your scooter whenever needed.

We recorded a braking distance of 4.5 meters to come from 15mph to zero.

Tires

The X7 Max is one of the few budget electric scooters that feature 10-inch pneumatic tires.

One of the main advantages of the pneumatic tire type is that they aid in the general shock absorption of the scooter and the ride quality is often better than say the solid type.

These big tires in the TurboAnt X7 Max e scooter help in enhancing the ground clearance to a whopping 5.3 inches (13.5 cm).

Lights

The X7 Max scooter comes with two types of LED Lights: a 3W LED headlight strategically positioned just below the cockpit and also a Red LED tail light that comes on whenever you apply the brakes.

Deck

For most budget scooters, the TurboAnt X7 Max has one of the widest decks you will ever see.

Measuring 17 cm (6.7 inches) in width and 49cm (19 inches) in length, most big riders won’t have a problem while riding the X7 Max.

The platform design is one of the most unique as this ride features elevated deck manufacturing.

TurboAnt X7 Max Features

Portability

Weighing only 15.5kg (34.2 lb), the TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter is a portable electric scooter for most adults.

However, it cannot be described as an ultra-lightweight device like rides such as the Unagi Model One E350.

Measuring 45.3 × 16.5 × 20.1 inches while folded, most adult riders won’t face challenges while putting the scooter inside a car trunk or even carrying it up the stairs.

Foldability

image of TurboAnt X7 Max e-scooter foldability

TurboAnt X7 Max e-scooter has one of the most seamless folding designs.

Folding in only 3 seconds, you won’t require any special skills to keep this ride folded.

Cruise Control

If you would love to maintain a certain speed without getting your fingers fatigued, simply activate the cruise control and keep going with your sweet spot.

Water resistance

Featuring a certified water-resistance rating of IPX4, you can ride your TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter under light rain without worrying much about damaged components.

However, we recommend that you dry your electric scooter when it gets wet and if possible, you should try to avoid riding in the rain.

Hill climbing ability

With a hill-climbing ability of 15 degrees, you can expect to climb not-so-steep hills without breaking a sweat.

While the TurboAnt X7 Max is not the best hill climber among adult electric scooters, it’s one of the best in its specs, budget, and class.

Riding Modes

Featuring 3 riding modes, the TurboAnt X7 Max electric scooter offers the versatility most riders love.

For the ECO Mode, you will hit the best range while riding your scooter to a maximum of 6 miles per hour.

If you would love to explore riding at moderate speeds, without over-exhausting the battery, then you can opt for the Comfort Mode, which is ideally anywhere between 6.1 mph to 9mph.

Do you have a deadline to beat? Just engage the Sport Mode and press the full throttle to hit a top speed of up to 20 miles per hour.
