Rideshare driving for services like Uber or Lyft are an excellent side gig offering many perks.
You can make your own schedule and work as much as you want.
Not to mention, you can work in whichever city you live in.
But another perk many people don’t know about is the Uber driver invite code drivers receive – a simple way for new and existing drivers to earn a bit more cash.
The best part about an invite code is that you can use it to claim a signup bonus.
In this post, we’ll cover what the code is, how it works, and how it help make you a bit more money.

What Is an Uber Invite Code?
An Uber invite code is a referral code Uber drivers give to referrals.
When an Uber driver suggests a friend or relative drive for Uber or take a ride, that person becomes a referral.
When a referral signs up using the code, the driver will get referral rewards.
In addition, if the referral signs up to drive, they and the driver who referred them will be eligible for an Uber sign up bonus.
How Does an Uber Invite Code Work?
Uber invite codes work by providing bonuses and discounts to the drivers who use them.
To use your Uber invite code, you’ll need to share it with your friends or relatives.
After sharing your invite code with a referral, they’ll need to enter it when they sign up.
Once your referral downloads the app and creates an account, you’ll get credits you can use toward your next Uber ride and become eligible for bonus rewards.
The code works for each of Uber’s services, including UberX, UberXL, UberPOOL, and UberSELECT.
Here’s a video summary we put together to explain how these promotions work:
In our research, we’ve found that many websites and forums are making false bonus claims about their referral codes.
Before you rush out and claim the first promotion you see, take a look at our Uber referral code and the terms associated with it.
We promise not to make lofty claims and to be as transparent as possible about these promotions.
What Uber Services Have Uber Invite Codes?
As long as you have an Uber account, you’ll have access to an invite code for the Uber referral program.
Simply log in to your account, find your code, and share it.
So, whether you drive for the Uber rideshare service or deliver for Uber Eats, you’ll have a code to share.
Where Can You Get an Uber Invite Code 2023?
When you log into your Uber app, you can navigate to the “Earnings” tab.
There, you’ll find an “Invite Friends Now” option.
The code will be toward the bottom.
You’ll also see a list of people you’ve referred to Uber and what reward you’ll be eligible for when they use your code.
How to Use an Uber Invite Code
When you receive an Uber invite code, you can redeem it in the Uber app.
If you’re signing up to be an Uber driver, you might also be eligible for a New Driver Signup Bonus.
Signup bonuses are typically in cash and are dependent on a minimum ride quota.
The dollar amount and minimum rides can vary by city.
How to Qualify for Uber Sign Up Bonus
Qualifying for a signup bonus is quick and easy.
All you need is an invite code and an Uber account.
Once you receive a driver referral code, simply enter it when you sign up to drive for Uber.
If your reference sent you a link, you could use that, and the code will automatically apply to your account.
How to Apply Your Uber Invite Code
When you use the code on our page, you’re eligible to receive a new driver sign-on bonus when you reach the minimum required number of Uber rides in your city.
To receive a bonus and start working as your own boss, sign up with an Uber driver promo code during times of high driver demand and low supply.
Uber typically offers higher bonuses when they’re trying to quickly get new drivers on the road.
These bonus amounts and minimum ride quotas vary by city, but no matter what is being offered, it’ll be worth your time.
The best promotions typically run in bigger cities where passenger demand is really high, like New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Chicago.
It’s definitely worth claiming a bonus no matter which city you’re in.
How To Sign Up With Our Referral Code
For new drivers to be eligible to claim one of the big bonuses everybody is talking about, they must enter an Uber invite code during the initial application process.
This is the code we provided above which will unlock a guaranteed amount of money on your first trips.
There are two ways you can apply an Uber referral code:
- Apply through a referral link, then create an account
- Create a driver account, then manually add the code
We’ll walk you through both methods step-by-step below.
1. Apply through Ridester’s referral link
The easiest way to ensure your Uber invite code is applied is to click the referral link.
Once clicked, the code will automatically apply to your Uber account and you’ll be eligible for the driver guarantee.
The landing page will display the guarantee amount and terms and conditions associated with the promotion for your city.
This includes how many trips you need to give and the time frame you must complete them in order to unlock your bonus.
Proceed by creating an account, entering the rest of the information, and completing the registration process.
2. Manually Applying the Code
If you’re in the middle of the sign-up process and are looking for the code, you can still continue without having to click the link above.
The screenshot below is taken from Uber’s driver signup page for someone who has not yet clicked a sign-up link.
You’ll notice a box at the bottom where they ask you for an Invite Code.
If you leave that blank, you won’t get a guarantee.
Simply enter your code of choice — in this case, “PRGEY” — to claim your new driver bonus.
Although the invite code box is labeled “optional,” if you don’t insert it before moving on to the next steps, you’ll have to retroactively claim a bonus.
This takes time and is a fairly frustrating process.
We highly suggest taking the time to ensure you’ve properly completed this step before moving on.
Once the code is entered, click “Next” and eligible drivers will see the bonus applied.
Keep in mind…
Here are a few things to keep in mind when applying a referral bonus:
- New Uber partners must enter an Uber driver promo code at the time of application. Failure to enter an Uber invite code will mean no bonus is earned.
- The Uber sign-up bonus isn’t retroactive, but if you forget to enter the code or have a technical issue at the time of the application, you may be eligible for retroactive referral for up to 15 days.
- Bonus terms are subject to change and aren’t guaranteed. Your Uber driver promo code and guarantee promotion will depend on which city you drive in. Please check the signup page or with your local Uber team if you have questions about this amount.
- Uber sign-up bonuses are now shifted to guarantees. If somebody tells you otherwise, look elsewhere for updated information.
More bonus terms:
- Uber can deny a driver application for any reason
- Only one Uber invite code can be used at sign-up
- Existing drivers aren’t eligible for the new Uber driver sign-up bonus
- Each ride will count toward the ride quota only if it’s a different passenger each time
- Drivers must meet the requirements and pass a background check to be approved to drive
How to Increase Earnings With Your Uber Invite Code
The Uber invite code gives you a couple of options to increase your earnings.
In addition to referring new drivers, you can also benefit from the New Driver Guarantee.
1. New Driver Guarantee
The New Driver Guarantee is a quick, simple way to secure additional funds when you sign up to drive with Uber.
All you need is an invite code so you can access the Uber sign up bonus.
What is the New Driver Guarantee?
Uber’s New Driver Guarantee is a program that guarantees new drivers a set income over a set period of time.
It’s a way to earn more money, but it’s also a way for Uber to retain drivers.
How Does the Uber Driver Guarantee Work?
After a reference gives you an invite code, you can use it to sign up for Uber.
Then, you’ll be eligible for a signup bonus that guarantees a specific dollar amount from Uber.
Once you’re signed up, you’ll need to complete a set number of trips.
The number of trips will vary by city.
However, in all cases, you’ll have to complete your trips in a specific period.
Once you’ve completed your trips, you’ll be eligible for a bonus rate.
Uber will pay you the difference if you haven’t reached the bonus threshold.
So, if the signup bonus is $1,000 and you only make $500, Uber will give you the additional $500.
Keep in mind that your driver rewards each have time limits.
Take note of the following expiration periods:
- All invitations expire 90 days after they’re sent
- Rewards expire in 30 days for new drivers
- Rewards expire in 90 days for new delivery drivers
- Rewards expire in 90 days for existing drivers
2. Refer New Drivers
Another way to earn extra cash is by referring new drivers to Uber.
How Can You Make Money Referring New Drivers To Uber?
Each time a referral uses your code to sign up to drive for Uber, you become eligible to receive rewards.
You can receive a bonus each time a new driver reaches a certain number of trips.
How Much Can You Make?
According to Uber’s TOS linked above, “referrers are limited to a combined total of 10 referral payouts.”
However, Uber doesn’t mention a specific dollar limit in their terms.
The amount you receive will depend on your referral’s city, but there doesn’t appear to be a cap on your bonus.
How to Send an Uber Invite Code
Sending an Uber promo code couldn’t be easier.
Simply navigate to your Uber driver app, and follow the instructions we have provided and the sections below.
Where is My Uber Referral Code?
Your Uber referral code is located in your Uber app.
You can send the code to any referral you want from the app using text, social media, or email.
You can also find your referral code on the Uber partners’ website.
First, log in to your partner account on partners.uber.com.
Once there, you’ll be able to find your code and a list of everyone who’s received or used it.
How to Send the Code [Tutorial]
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to send your Uber promo code to your referrals.
To send your Uber invite code via text or email:
- Navigate to your Uber app.
- Tap the “Menu” icon on the top left.
- Tap “Earnings,” then “Invite and Earn.”
- Select “Learn More.”
- Tap “Select from contacts.”
- Select the contacts you want to share your link with and tap “Send invites.”
To send your invite via social media:
- Using the steps above, navigate to “Learn more.”
- Tap “Send invites,” then select your preferred social media platform.
Once you send out your invites, you’ll receive a notification each time the promo code is redeemed.
You can keep track of who’s redeemed the code in your driver app.
Each time you earn a reward, you can view it in the app under “Miscellaneous or Other Payments.”
Before sharing your referral code, read over Uber’s referral terms and conditions.
Although Uber wants you to be able to make some extra cash using the code, you’ll have to abide by the following:
- Only give the code to individuals you know
- Don’t post your code on a website available to the general public
- Don’t print your code on business cards or flyers
- Don’t mass-email or use bots to send out your code
As long as you adhere to these and other conditions Uber laid out, you’ll be on your way to making an extra chunk of money.
Other Incentive Programs to Check Out
In addition, there are other incentive programs to check out.
Uber Momentum Program
Uber has tried to make additional incentives so drivers can increase earnings and save money.
One of the programs is the Uber driver invite promotion and another is the Uber Momentum program
By partnering with insurance companies, wireless providers, and licensed mechanics, Momentum brings significant cost savings to Uber drivers.
Stride health offers discounted insurance policies for drivers and their families.
Autozone, Maaco, and Firestone all offer discounts on car services and products.
Wireless plan discounts start at 15% off. Sign up with an Uber driver promo code now and start saving!
Uber Driver Promotion: Quest and Boost
These two promotions are designed to encourage drivers to give more rides.
With Quest, you get an extra cash bonus once you complete a specific number of rides within a specific time period.
For example, the app may ask you to complete 10 rides within this weekend to earn an extra $50.
With Boost, you can earn more if you drive during busy hours of the day.
If you give a ride in a 2x boost zone, then the base ride fare you make will double, from say $10 to $20.
This is different than surge pricing. If the surge multiplier in that area is higher, then you’ll make the surge amount.
These promotions are sent to you in weekly emails and through text alerts, but you can also check for these from within the Promotions tab inside the app.
Uber’s driver invite codes are an excellent method of earning a bit of extra cash.
As an Uber driver, you’re already on your way to a lucrative side gig.
Using referral bonuses from friends and relatives can give your income a decent boost.

I am trying to sign up to get an account so I can get rides w/Uber but
I do not have a code or whatever is asked for in the app. Please advise. Thank you, Sandra J Ekwall/951-850-1757 [email protected]
Uber memang oke……
If you pick someone up at the airport, are you required to load and unload their luggage?
You might want to updated the “driver tip” sentence. As of today (10-5-2017), you can get tips from within the APP….I know this for a fact, because it shows it.
Hi, I’m signing up to drive for Uber tomorrow, and it seems as though I need more info than just the bonus code provided above in order to receive the new driver bonus. Please provide a name, phone number, and email address sent to the email I provided for this comment ASAP. Thanks!
A local driver has taken out an Ad in the Help Wanted section of our newspaper and posted his Driver promo code to enter for new drivers. Is that allowed?
Question 1:I used to drive for Uber but haven’t driven for a couple years. As far as I know,I am in good standing with the company. Should I wish to start driving again, will I just pick it it back up and go, or do I have to start the whole application process again?
Question 2: If someone uses my referral code to sign up for UberEats, will my referral code also get credit
if they start driving for Uber as well?
How can I get ahold of an Uber driver that backed into my pickup and left without leaving her information
