Overview of the Kingslim D6 Dash Cam

After reviewing the Kingslim D4 dash cam, I knew that the company’s cameras were great.

This model is no exception.

It comes packed with features – plenty of bang for your buck.

Front and Rear-Facing Cameras

Attached to the unit are two cameras – one that is forward-facing and another that faces inside the car.

There are 4 IR lights, making recording at night incredibly effective, and the 4K + 1080P resolution provides crystal-clear video quality.

This makes it an excellent rear-view dash cam.

Emergency Recording

The camera has functionality that allows it to automatically record in emergency situations such as an accident.

Parking Monitor

The parking monitor feature means that the camera is always on – even when the driver is no longer in the car.

This feature is helpful for any situation, but particularly helpful in hit-and-runs or potential burglaries.

Camera Specs

The camera’s specs are as follows:

  • Video Resolution: 4K + 1080P
  • Lens: F1.8 170° FOV
  • Screen: 2-inch Display
  • Input: DC 5V2A
  • Working Temperature: -4°F-140°F

Unboxing

Before I even got this camera out of the box, I noticed the simplicity of the unit.

The packaging was minimalistic, yet descriptive.

After opening the box, it was clear which components went with what.

Initial Thoughts

I was initially drawn to the camera’s interesting design.

It is minimalistic, yet elegant at the same time.

I really liked the matte black color, which does a good job of not reflecting light.

I also noticed the thoughtful features that the product design team had integrated into the camera’s design.

For example, I really liked the sticky pad on the cord, which would prove to be very helpful in keeping the cord from interfering with my driving once the camera was installed.

Setting Up the Kingslim D6 Dash Cam

Getting started took no more than about a minute.

The setup was as easy as the sticker on this screen:

I did just that – took the film off the screen, inserted a microsd card, and then connected it to power.

That’s literally it.

The setup of this specific camera was one of the easiest camera setups that I’ve done so far.

Installation

Installation was about as easy as the camera setup.

The camera comes with two different mounting methods – one that utilizes a 3M sticky pad that adheres to the windshield glass or your rear view mirror, and another suction cup mount that adheres to the windshield glass.

I chose the windshield mount, as it is my preferred method of mounting a camera.

I like to mount it and then move it around until I find the ideal placement.

As you can see, the camera is out of the way, yet still looks nice.

Another cool feature is the screen.

It automatically turns into a clock once it senses movement in the car.

My Experience With This Camera

This camera shoots in 4K, so it goes without saying that the quality is unbelievable.

Trust me, I will be adding this to my list of the best 4K dash cams when I get a moment to do so.

As you can see from the video above, the video is clear.

This is what I expected, but what I did not expect was how clear the interior images were at night.

This is an image from the interior of my car, inside a garage, at night with no light.

It’s pretty safe to say that this camera is great in not only low light, but also no light.

Conclusion: Is the Kingslim D6 Dash Cam Worth It?

Overall, I highly recommend this camera.

It’s incredibly easy to use, and the quality is practically unmatched.

Many dash cams are complicated and take quite a bit of time to activate, install, and set up.

Not this one – all of that can be done in less than 5 minutes.

For those looking for a dash cam that just works, then give the Kingslim D6 dash cam a try.
