How Do I Get Turo Go?

Use an Apple ID, Facebook account, Google account, or email address to get started.

Enter the verification code you receive via text message and click “Submit”.

To get Turo Go as a host, you must first host at least three completed trips.

Naturally, you’ll need to live in one of the locations where Turo offers Turo Go to guests.

Your vehicle must meet Turo’s eligibility requirements.

Since Turo Go uses contactless technology, your car needs an OEM-connected vehicle subscription.

It’s your responsibility to pay the subscription for this Turo Go device and keep it up to date.

Lastly, you must meet the following performance requirements.

  • 85% response rate
  • 80% five-star trip rate
  • 80% commitment rate
  • 60% acceptance rate

As a Turo Commercial host in the UK or the United States, you’ll automatically see a Turo Go tab inside your host menu.

Canadian hosts need an official Turo invitation to join the Turo Go program.

Turo also asks you to purchase a protective pouch for your keys.

How To Activate Turo Go

To activate Turo Go as a guest, follow these instructions.

If you live in one of the supported locations listed above, Turo will ask if you want to enable Turo Go.

If you want to use Turo Go, select “Yes.”

You’ll then need to agree to the separate terms and conditions of using Turo Go.

After reading the terms and conditions, select “I Agree” to finish the activation process.

You’re now ready to use the Turo Go features to rent special connected vehicles.

Turo will send you a notification to confirm your choice.

How To Use Turo Go

To use Turo Go, open the Turo app and select “Turo Go.”

You’ll then see a list of all available Turo Go rental cars near you.

Select the car you want to reserve and follow the prompts to complete your reservation.

When you’re ready to pick up your rental car, open the Turo Go app to find the reserved car.

Your host will provide you with the pick-up location.

As well, the Turo Go feature will show you the location of the car.

You’ll see a map showing the vehicle’s location.

Let Turo know if you can’t pick up the car at the scheduled time.

The app will keep the vehicle on hold for up to 12 hours beyond the scheduled trip start time.

Turo will cancel the trip automatically if you don’t pick up the rented car within those 12 hours.

You won’t receive a refund in this case.

How Do You Unlock the Car in Turo Go?

To unlock the car, follow the directions on the app.

Using your phone’s Bluetooth or cellular connection, the Turo app will connect the phone’s signal to the vehicle’s contactless locking mechanism.

Press the “unlock” button in the app and open the vehicle.

Turo will give you directions at this point about taking pictures of the vehicle.

The app gives you a place to upload photos of the front, back, and two sides of your rental car.

Take pictures of the odometer and fuel gauge.

Also, take photos of the vehicle’s interior from various angles.

Make sure to carefully capture any pre-existing damage to the inside and outside of the car.

You’re required to upload those photos within 24 of starting the trip.

On normal Turo trips, you also need to provide a driver’s license close-up picture.

With Turo Go trips, this isn’t necessary.

The app verifies your identity as you’re completing the trip’s booking process.

You can then use the Turo app to start your trip.

When you’re finished with your rental, return the car and close the Turo app.

You don’t need to meet your host in person to return the car.
