Table Of Contents
What Is Lyft Pink?
Lyft Pink is a premium membership that you can purchase in the Lyft app.
It’s ideal for Lyft riders who order at least 2-3 rides a week or 8-12 rides a month.
Lyft benefits include discounts on rides, free Lyft scooter and bike rides, and a lot more.
How Does Lyft Pink Work?
Lyft Pink is a monthly or annual subscription.
You’ll pay $19.99/month or $199/year, charged automatically to your credit card or another payment method.
You can quickly sign up by opening the menu in the Lyft app and clicking on Lyft Pink.
As long as your subscription is active, you’ll enjoy 15% discounts on all rides, automatically.
Furthermore, you’ll be able to benefit from the other perks that come along with Lyft Pink.
Who Can Get Lyft Pink?
All Lyft riders in the United States who are using personal accounts – whether in large cities like San Francisco or in small towns – can get a Pink membership.
Unfortunately, Lyft Pink is not available in Canada at the moment.
Lyft Pink is only available on personal accounts.
The 15% Lyft Pink benefit will not apply to business rides.
If you are using a business account, you can switch to your personal account by tapping on the payment option in the bottom-left corner of the screen when ordering a ride.
What Are the Perks of Lyft Pink?
So, what do Lyft Pink members gain from the subscription service.
Here is a comprehensive list of Lyft Pink perks.
The most advertised benefit of Lyft Pink is the discount of 15% that will apply to all rides.
You won’t have to enter a coupon code; Lyft will automatically reduce the cost of your ride.
For example, if your car ride normally costs $20, it will cost $17 with Lyft Pink.
Free Grubhub+ or Seamless+ Membership
Lyft has partnered with Grubhub and Seamless, two restaurant delivery apps.
When you sign up for Lyft Pink, you will be able to link your Grubhub or Seamless account and enjoy a free premium Grubhub+ or Seamless+ membership.
A Grubhub+ or Seamless+ membership means you can enjoy free delivery on all restaurant orders of $12+ in the Grubhub or Seamless apps.
You can’t have both, though; you have to choose either Grubhub or Seamless.
Free Lyft Rentals Upgrades
Did you know that you can rent cars from SIXT straight from the Lyft app?
As a Lyft Pink member, you can benefit from free upgrades to better, higher-class cars.
Availability varies based on rental location and day.
Easy Ride Cancellations
Canceling a Lyft ride may come with a cancellation fee.
However, Lyft Pink members have more flexibility.
If you rebook your canceled ride within 15 minutes and complete the rebooked ride, Lyft will credit you the cancellation fee – up to three times a month.
You can also rent a bicycle or e-bike through the Lyft app in select markets.
Lyft has partnered with regional bike-share companies like Citi Bike in New York to offer its users in-app bike rentals by the minute.
Lyft Pink monthly members will get three free bicycle rides per month – up to 30 minutes each ride.
However, if you are a Lyft Pink annual member, you will get three free 45-minute rides per month.
The exception is in Boston, Massachusetts, where Lyft Pink doesn’t apply for bike-share rentals.
For e-bike rentals, Lyft Pink monthly and annual subscribers get discounted rates for the first 30 or 45 minutes of each ride, respectively.
After that, they pay the regular regional rate.
Discounted e-bike rates range from 25% to 33%, depending on the market.
In addition, all Lyft Pink members get free e-bike unlocks.
In specific cities, Lyft Pink members also get three free 30-minute scooter rides when reserving an electric scooter on the Lyft app.
Those cities include:
- Los Angeles
- San Diego
- Washington, DC
Furthermore, according to Lyft, Pink members in Denver get unlimited free scooter unlocks and a third off the local per-minute scooter rental rates.
You will also get priority airport pickup.
At most airports, Lyft will match you to a closer driver, giving you priority over other riders.
That can help you get to your destination quicker.
However, it doesn’t apply to airports where Fast Match is available, like LAX.
No Lost and Found Fee
Finally, a nice perk of being a Lyft Pink user is that the lost and found fee will be waived.
Normally, when you leave an item in a Lyft car, you have to pay a $15 return fee for the driver to bring it back to you.
This fee goes directly to the driver and is in addition to any tip you decide to give your driver as a gesture of appreciation for their time.
Lyft Pink users don’t have to pay any lost and found fees – no matter how many times they lose items in cars.
Nevertheless, I recommend being vigilant when you leave a Lyft vehicle.
Check to make sure you have all your personal belongings with you.
Lyft drivers are not responsible for lost items, and there is no guarantee you will get your phone, purse, or keys back.
Furthermore, I suggest tipping your driver when they do take the time to help you, even if you don’t have to pay the lost and found fee.
How Much Does Lyft Pink Cost?
Lyft Pink has both a monthly and an annual plan, and you can upgrade from the monthly to the annual plan at any time.
Monthly Rate for Lyft Pink
The monthly rate is $19.99/month.
It offers almost all the same benefits as the annual rate, except that the annual plan gives you longer free bike rides.
Annual Rate for Lyft Pink
The annual rate is $199/year.
That translates to savings of around $40/year compared to the monthly plan.
You can switch from the monthly plan to the annual plan at any time.
The rest of your monthly membership will be refunded, and you will be charged $199 right away.

Upon downloading the app, you’ll be prompted to enter a bit of information to begin the sign-up process.
You’ll start by providing your:
- Email address

Then, you’ll enter your phone number and Lyft will text you a code to verify your device.
Upon doing so, your account set up is complete.
Once signed up, you can go to your dashboard to see the status of your perks.
For instance, you can see how many free bike trips you have remaining, along with any special perks that may be available.

- Commuter benefits
- Gift cards
- Prepaid cards
Although you cannot use these payment methods for your recurring monthly fee, you can use them to pay for the remaining fare on your rides.
Is It Worth It to Get Lyft Pink?
It might be.
The cost of Lyft Pink is $19.99/month or $199/year.
Lyft Pink will give you a 15% discount on all rides.
So, if you normally spend around $135/month or more on Lyft rides, Lyft Pink is automatically worth it, and the savings already cover the cost of the membership.
You’ll be able to enjoy the other Lyft Pink perks, like priority airport pickups, at no cost to you.
If your Lyft usage fluctuates from month to month, but you spend $1,330/year or more on Lyft rides, it is worth signing up for the annual membership.
There are additional situations in which a Lyft Pink membership will make financial sense.
For example, if you order a lot of takeout on Grubhub or Seamless, the delivery fees can quickly add up to a lot more than $19.99/month.
The Grubhub+ or Seamless+ membership alone may make Lyft Pink worth it.
If you use Lyft Bike a few times a month in addition to ordering rides, the free e-bike unlocks, free classic bike rides, and discounted e-bike rides can also add up and make Lyft Pink financially worth it.
The same goes for Lyft Scooter or if you find yourself canceling Lyft rides a few times a month.
Furthermore, if you have the right credit card, you can even get Lyft Pink for free.
For example, if you have Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can get a full year’s membership of Lyft Pink at no extra cost.
Pros of Lyft Pink
- You’ll get discounted Lyft rides for all fare types.
- There will be free scooter and bike rides (in select cities).
- You won’t have to worry about canceling a ride if the driver is not moving towards you.
- Grubhub and Seamless users can enjoy free delivery.
- If you spend a certain amount of money on Lyft or Grubhub each month, the savings make it automatically worth it.
Cons of Lyft Pink
- It doesn’t apply to business rides.
- There are no partial refunds given after cancellation.
- You can’t pay your Lyft Pink membership fee with a prepaid card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, commuter benefits, or gift cards, even though you can use them to pay for rides.
Conclusion: Is Lyft Pink Worth the Money?
Lyft Pink is worth it if you spend over $135/month or $1,330/year on Lyft rides, or if you spend over $19.99/month or $199/year in Grubhub delivery fees.
Otherwise, it may not provide you with sufficient savings to make it worth it.

Has anyone else lost the 15% off benefit when they sign up for Lyft pink now?!
I had it for a year and when it went to renew the 15% off benefit had been changed to “priority upgrade” which is useless since I never use priority.
