The Shipt application process to become a Shopper doesn’t take that long to do. There are a good handful of steps involved, but it is not overwhelming to do.

When I applied, the entire process only took me around 15 minutes or so, from start to finish.

Shipt Shopper Requirements You Must Meet

Before you apply, however, you must ensure that you meet the Shipt Shopper requirements. In order to apply, applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a valid mailing address
• Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and auto insurance
• Own a reliable, operable vehicle (1997 or newer)
• Ensure the vehicle is not a 2-door sedan
• Have the ability to lift 50 pounds
• Use an iPhone (iOS 10 or newer) or Android (5.1 or newer) smartphone
• Maintain an updated version of the shopper app (version 4.62.0 or newer)

If you meet these requirements, you have a good chance of getting approved.

What is Needed to Apply to Shipt?

In order to apply to become a Shipt Shopper, you need the following:

• A new shopper referral link: this unlocks the new Shopper referral bonus that gives referred applicants cash incentives to work toward after application.
• A working smartphone: this is so that you’re able to run the Shipt Shopper app – your portal to the Shipt shopping world.
• The Shipt Shopper app: This is how you will manage your orders, communicate with customers, and more. This can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play.
• Personal information: you will need a valid U.S. driver’s license, as well as a valid mailing address.
• Vehicle & insurance: you will also need a vehicle to deliver with, as well as auto insurance to cover the vehicle.

As long as you have all of the items listed above, you can begin the Shipt application process.

How to Apply to Become a Shipt Shopper

To apply as a Shipt Shopper, you will first need to apply using a referral link. If you need one, you can apply using ours.

Once clicked, you should verify that the promotion was successfully applied to your account. If you see the referral code within the URL of the page, it was successful.

Next, select the “Sign up now” button on the page.

You will be taken to a new section of the page, where you will enter your email address and zip code. You can also download the Shipt Shopper app at this point.

After entering your email address and zip code, select the “Sign up now” button. From there, you will complete your application through the Shipt Shopper app.

The steps to do so are fairly straightforward. You’ll enter your personal information, consent to a background check, and answer any other questions that Shipt might think is relevant.

As I mentioned before, this process only took me roughly 10-15 minutes to complete in total – it is fairly straightforward.

If your application was successfully submitted, you should receive an email that looks something like this:

You’ll now enter a bit of a waiting period, during which Shipt is reviewing your information before they make their decision.

If Shipt approves your account, you’ll receive an email notifying you that you’ve been approved. From there, you will receive a Shipt Shopper contract that you’ll need to sign.

In short, this is an independent contractor agreement that makes clear that you are an independent contractor, not a W-2 employee of Shipt. It also explains how you use SHIPT’s app for shopping gigs, how you get paid, and other rules about working together.

Once you sign this, you will officially be a Shipt Shopper.
